Turmeric and black pepper

Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric which provides powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, while helping to lower the risk of heart disease, and has been shown to slow the development of certain cancer cells. Researchers have also discovered that curcumin fights various degenerative processes in the brain.

TIP: Adding a little bit black pepper to a dish with turmeric increases your body’s absorption of turmeric by about 2000%.
